Peter has been working in the profession as an Actor, Director, Producer and Writer for over 45 years. He started his acting career playing in repertory theatres all over the country, including companies in Manchester, Birmingham, Bath, Nottingham, Chesterfield, Chelmsford, The Mill at Sonning and Edinburgh. His many roles include John Macey in ‘Monday after the Miracle’(West End); Rayleigh in ‘Journey’s End’,Chris Keller in ‘All My Sons’, Danny in ‘Night Must Fall’, Malcolm in ‘Macbeth’, Launcelot in ‘Merchant Of Venice’, Tom in ‘Glass Menagerie’ Winston Churchill, Adolf Hitler, George Formby and Rob Wilton in ‘Happy As A Sandbag’, Jack in ‘The Importance of Being Ernest’, Harold in ‘Spring and Port Wine’and Hap in ‘Death of a Salesman’.
Peter started his career as an actor in stage, television and film, progressing to writing, directing and producing.
He ran an International Community Cross-Over Project which took children and students from across the London Boroughs and performed in the West End, transferring to Ohio, U.S.A. This involved artists from the industry working with local actors and special needs students.
As an Actor Peter has appeared in many tv series and sit-coms, on stage played everything from John Macey in ’ MONDAY AFTER THE MIRACLE’(West End) to Chris Keller in ‘ALL MY SONS’with rep seasons ranging from Nottingham, Swansea, and Basingstoke.
As a writer Peter has written several plays, 8 musicals, show-cased in the West End and currently working on a spy-thriller.
As a Director Peter has been responsible for many productions, was Artistic Director for Stafford Gatehouse for 8 years, worked for Disney as a Director and Executive Producer and, also worked for Really Useful Theatre Groups and for 2 years as a writer E.M.I
Peter’s passion is working with children, students and young performers, particularly special needs to nurture, encourage, support and develop them with perhaps a career in the industry or just ‘Life Skills’.
Currently developing my Open University Degree and Broadening the units to include Media and Art
Numerous Productions as Director/Producer and Writer, most recently in West-end venues such as The London Palladium, Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, Her Majesty's Theatre and Stuarts Opera House in Columbus, Ohio for the international crossover project. Yearly Industrial work placement with leading Producing Management including Really, Useful Group, Q-Dos, Pantoni, Stafford Gatehouse and Paul Holman Associates.
I continue to work as a Producer/Director/Writer for the International Cross-Over Project for Havering College and also our partner college Hocking, Nelsonville, Columbus, Ohio. I also work as a consultant for a number of Schools & Educational Projects serving the local community, particularly with several Special Needs Schools.
